Naureen Kheraj

As the Associate on The Chicago Principal Partnership team, Naureen is the primary liaison for The Fund’s assistant principal programming and works to ensure that assistant principals are becoming principal ready and that the pipeline is diverse.

Naureen began her career in New York City, where she worked closely with the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Neighborhood Charter Schools. She supported the work of the network’s principal and assistant principals and contributed to the creation of a new school in the Bronx.

Most recently, Naureen worked for three years at the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research as a project manager and analyst. She supported project leads and directors on projects such as the revalidation of the 5Essentials and the Consortium’s 2021-2025 Research Agenda, and she worked closely with the Consortium’s Director of Research Operations to improve internal processes and strategy. Naureen also led a committee that created the organization’s first DEI statement and reformed the language and framing used in Consortium publications and presentations.

Naureen graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Comparative Race and Ethnic studies. Outside of work, she helps run an ESL program for young students in her religious community. In her free time, Naureen is likely listening to political podcasts or trying out new recipes from her large, ever growing cookbook collection.
