As the Associate of Data and Policy, Alexis works on a variety of projects meant to support the Fund’s mission to improve Chicago’s public schools by investing in the talented leaders who run them.
A born and raised Chicagoan, Alexis grew up in Archer Heights and now resides in Logan Square. Alexis is a proud alumna of CPS, having gone to both district and charter schools during her time as a student. As a student who saw firsthand how schools greatly differ in the system due to funding and leadership, she developed a passion for education equity. This passion later brought her to the Fund.
Alexis is a graduate from the University of Chicago with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Education and Society. Prior to the Fund and throughout her undergraduate years, Alexis interned for various college access organizations and supported leaders within CPS schools as a mentor for high school students. Her experience led to working in CPS’ Office of Equity as a Data Intern, where she focused on the office’s Great Expectations Mentoring program which supports the professional development of strong school educators and leaders.
Outside of work, Alexis enjoys spending time exploring the city, going to concerts at any of Chicago’s many music venues, and practicing the electric bass.
